Axial compression tests of RC columns confined by aramid fiber belt prestressing

The seismic retrofit technique ofaramid fiber belt with initial prestressing was proposed by Yamakawa et al. in 2001, and it was verified that the seismic performance of poor RC columns could be improved by the proposed method. However, the axial compression be-havior of RC columns confined by the proposed method has yet to be investigated.
